(NEW YORK) Boucheron is bringing on the burlesque. The famed jewelry house is celebrating its 150th anniversary this year with more extraordinary precious creations–and a unique show in New York. First up: The launch of L’Art de Boucheron, a collection of pieces dreamed up by world-renowned artists as well as the brand’s craftsman at its Place Vendôme atelier. Boucheron has also collaborated on Désir, a burlesque show which includes aerial and acrobatic acts straight from Paris. It will be performed at Spiegelworld, which will set up shop at the South Street Seaport. The third annual carnival will include avant-garde theater, can-cans, top DJs and perpetual dancing under the stars, running from August 6 – November 2. Désir will be staged inside the Salon Perdu, a 350-seat mirrored and brocade rotunda. Boucheron’s CEO Jean-Christophe Bédos will attend the premier of the spectacle on August 14th.
Boucheron will host an elaborate anniversary celebration during New York Fashion Week on September 8th at the venue. A slew of editors, New York fixtures and celebrities are expected to attend the festivities, which will include a private performance of the show and an after party hosted by a yet-to-be-confirmed celebrity DJ.
